I turned away from my computer screen and answered simply, “… because you said it in English.”
He stared at me curiously, “No. I said it in Hungarian.”
It is a strange sensation to have; to understand perfectly, but an inability to speak.
I am transported to my childhood where I was surrounded by this foreign language “köszönöm szépen”, “szeretlek”; did I learn more than I thought?
